There are many reasons why you might lose your tire air valve cap, the most common being that you or your mechanic forget to put them back on after you fill your tires. They also can be lost if you hit a pothole or other road debris, and sometimes they just fall off. What are the little caps on car tires for?
The plastic tire air valve stem caps serve two functions. This can be a useful way to reduce the need for frequent tire inflation, and some even have an indicator that lets you know when it's time to replace them.
